A New Decade – A New Beginning
MamaCITA is pleased to announce its reformation and its return to its roots of championing women in the arts. When MamaCITA was first established in 2008, the CITA in MamaCITA was as an acronym for a Cooperative in the Arts, but it also represents the values that originally inspired and shaped the cooperative: Collaboration, Inspiration, Transformation and Actuation. MamaCITA will take these ideals into the next decade, growing and changing to meet the challenges of a more virtual world, and respecting the unique challenges that female artists face today: creating art while juggling the responsibilities of earning money, raising children, supporting their extended families and in the age of COVID – 19 – keeping the people that they love safe. MamaCITA is excited to see what the next decade brings!
